Teacher Taster Events

These events are designed to enable you to make an informed decision – is teaching for you? Which route suits you best?

Manchester Nexus (part of the Cranmer Education Trust) recommends our Teacher Taster Events to those people who are considering teaching Art and Design, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Design and Technology, Drama, English, Geography, History, Maths, Media Studies, Modern Foreign Languages (MFL), Music, Physical Education, Physical Education with Ebacc, Physics, Religious Studies or Social Sciences at secondary level and hold a 1st, 2:1 or 2:2 degree in that subject. We do accept a 3rd in some instances, so do contact us if this applies to you.

Manchester Nexus also hold Taster Events for those considering teaching in a primary school setting.

Primary and Secondary Teacher Taster Remote Event

Our remote Teacher Taster Events are available for anyone interested in training to teach through any of our secondary or primary programmes. Our next event will be held on:

Secondary only Teacher Taster Day

Our face to face Teacher Taster days are available for anyone interested in training to teach at Secondary level. The Taster Days are held at The Blue Coat School in Oldham. Our next event will be held on:

Train to Teach Manchester Event

Wednesday 10th November 16:30-19:30

Train to Teach events will provide you with a wealth of information and help you turn questions to confidence on your journey to the classroom.
What you can expect:
  • expert advisers, teachers and training providers are available to answer your specific questions
  • chat with current teachers and find out what a day in the life of a teacher is really like
  • get one-to-one advice from our teaching experts on your application, including advice on your personal statement and interview tips
  • connect with local teacher training providers and find out more about the courses they offer
  • presentations which provide a step-by-step guide on how to get into teaching, the application process and funding your training
We can point you in the right direction and give you the answers you need to help get you one step closer to your rewarding new future.
